PROJECT PROCUREMENT

Raw or finished sizes? Put it in your cutting list.

Practical procurement guidance · Dhaka Timber · 24 October 2026

Define the measurement stage

Tell your supplier whether requested sizes describe incoming material or the dimensions needed after processing.

Ask about allowances

Do not silently add a fixed allowance to every order. Confirm the preparation method, agreed allowance, wastage and billing basis in writing.

Keep the quotation comparable

When comparing quotations, use the same dimension basis, species requirement, quantity and processing scope. An apparently lower rate may reflect a different scope.

Approve before preparation

Review the written cutting list before work begins. Ask how changes, offcuts and delivery quantities will be handled.

Based on the supplied business enquiry workflow and, where applicable, arithmetic unit conversion. Project-specific requirements must be confirmed in your quotation.
